Michel Morandais

Michel began his career as a basketball player in Guadeloupe, at the MJC des Abymes, then in Levallois, France before moving to the United States, in high school in New Jersey, then at the University of Colorado where he earned, 2 straight years, Second Team All-Big 12 honors. Michel finished his college career as Colorado’s seventh all-time leading scorer with 1,428 points.

In 2004, Michel began his career as a professional basketball player in the Italian League A for Cantù, then with Naples where he became an All-Star and won the Italian Cup.

After those 2 years in Italy, Michel spent 2 seasons in Spain where he plays for FC Barcelona then Estudiantes Madrid in Liga ACB. In 2008, he continued his career in France, with Nancy in Pro A.

In 2012 Michel took a one-year break in Guadeloupe, then signed a contract in Pro B with CCRB and actively participated in their rise to Pro A the same season. He will continue his career in Pro A until 2016 with ASVEL.

Michel has been living in Florida since 2017 and passes on his passion for basketball every week to kids who are eager to learn.

George ‘Fly’ Williams

George ‘Fly’ Williams comes from a family of outstanding basketball players. The youngest of four brothers to play for his high-school basketball team, he averaged 19.9 points over his high-school career. He was also one of the top rebounders in his school’s history with 8.7 per game. George was a standout in track & field as he qualified for the State Track Meet for two years in high and low hurdles. At the conclusion of his high school career, the jersey he and his three older brothers wore was retired and now hangs in their high-school gymnasium.

He began his college career in Alabama where he played two years and helped lead his team to the National Tournament. George later transferred to Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, where he also played for two years. He completed his college career with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.

George worked briefly in Major League Baseball as a team counselor for the Seattle Mariners. He founded the Eddie Williams Memorial Basketball Tournament, originally named “The Eddie Williams Dirt Bowl” because it was played outdoors at the city park named after his late brother Eddie Williams. The tournament became one of the largest basketball tournaments in Western Kentucky. George remains active in basketball and has been a high school referee for over twenty years.

George currently works at Florida Gulf Coast University as Director of Academic Advising. His current hobbies: golf, riding my motorcycle, playing the guitar, and hanging out with the family.

Réjane Vérin

From a very young age, Réjane honed the foundations of her game with BMBC, a basketball team in Guadeloupe. Her early talent and determination led her to go study in the US, beginning her rise in California within the Los Angeles high school circuit. This move marked the start of an exceptional personal and athletic journey.

Her brilliance on the court opened the doors to the NCAA circuit. Réjane first played for the UNLV Rebels (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) before joining UCR (University of California, Riverside). It was at this latter institution that she brilliantly completed her academic career, earning a Bachelor’s degree after four years of study and high-level competition.

Building on her American experience, she then pursued a professional career in France until 2025. During those years, she earned her Master’s degree from Toulouse School of Sports and dedicated her expertise and discipline to French basketball, confirming her status as an elite player capable of adapting to the demands of the professional environment.

In 2025, Réjane chose to return to her roots to share her knowledge and continue her passion in her native land of Guadeloupe. She joined 2TheTop Academy to mentor the next generation, while continuing to play on the Guadeloupean courts for MJCA. Her journey, combining academic success and athletic leadership, perfectly embodies the spirit of determination she now instills in our team.

Passionate about team sports from an early age, Jean-Michel began playing organized soccer at the age of six with SPL (Solidarité Port-Lousienne) in Guadeloupe, then with Red-Star as captain of the team, and as a sweeper like his idol at the time, Marius Trésor. However, it is much earlier that, against all odds, his love for the game of basketball began, when he was following his mother to games and practices @ Ban-e-Lot. After a few years of being torn between both sports, he signed with Ban-e-Lot and his basketball life officially began.

Despite studying and living in the US for a while, it is on the courts of Guadeloupe, Martinique, and France that his sports achievements will pile up. Several titles and honors with, chronologically, ASPTT, New Star, ACD (Amicale Club Darboussier), Ban-e-Lot, then New Star again. In 2013, Jean-Michel retired from competitive basketball and helped run administrative duties at New Star for over a year.

Professionally, Jean-Michel has, among other things, spent 4 years as a point of contact for the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee), and has successfully piloted, as Development Manager of the CROS (Regional Olympic and Sports Committee) Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe’s bid to integrate the CANOC (Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees) as a full member.

Back in the USA since 2014, he took advantage of the arrival of Michel Morandais and Bruno Brigitte in Miami a few years later, to pitch and boost the 2TheTop Academy concept. The adventure began!
